SOLIDWORKS ERROR : MOD-DIAM
When I apply a dimension to a circular edge, why does the diameter symbol Ø appear as ‘’?
The diameter symbol can appear as ‘<MOD-DIAM>’ if the gtol.sym file is missing or corrupt or the path to the Symbol Library File is invalid.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Go to System Options > File Locations.
- In the Show folders for list, click Symbol Library File.
The typical folder path is:
C:\ProgramData\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS [20XX]\lang\english
If the path points to the previous version of the software, update the folder path to point to the current version.
3. Click on "Edit All", scroll down to "Symbol Library File" and in the "New Path" column, edit the date.
4. Copy and paste the new adress in the windows file explorer and open the folder to ensure that the gtol.sym file exists.
5. If the file does not exist or you suspect that the file is corrupt, replace the file with this one : gtol.sym
