Move a component
n SOLIDWORKS Visualize, moving components is relatively simple provided you know the pivot points of your parts. There are no constraints like in SOLIDWORKS.
There are two methods for moving a component:
Modes :
A selected part will be surrounded by a blue border.
To make it possible to move a component, you must activate the movement mode (just next to the part selection).
Note also the presence of pivots that serve to position the center of the trihedron.
Manual positioning:
- The movement is done by holding down the left mouse button on the arrows of the trihedron and then moving the cursor to the desired position.
OR
Positioning with coordinates :
It is also possible to move the part using numerical coordinates.
- In the 'Model' tab
- 'Transform' tab under 'Transform'
The “Reset” button allows you to place the part back to its original location (when the file is opened).
Change the center of the component marker:
Manual positioning:
- Select the pivot, a ball appears at the center of the trihedron
- With the arrows, you can now move the center of the part’s pivot
OR
Positioning with coordinates:
- In the 'Model' tab
- 'Transform' tab under 'Transform'
It is not possible to use an edge of the component to position the reference center.
